God's Greatest Rescue Mission
The Story
Exodus 14
God's people were finally free from Egypt! But then Pharaoh changed his mind and sent his whole army — with horses and chariots — to chase them!
The Israelites were trapped. In front of them was the huge Red Sea. Behind them, Pharaoh's army was getting closer. They were scared and angry at Moses. 'Why did you bring us here to die?'
Moses told the people, 'Don't be afraid! Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today!' Then God told Moses to raise his staff over the sea.
A strong wind blew all night, and the water split into two massive walls! Two million people walked on DRY GROUND through the middle of the sea! When Pharaoh's army tried to follow, the water crashed back down. God had done the impossible!
What Can We Learn?
Nothing Is Impossible with God
God split the sea in two! There is nothing too hard for God.
Be Still and Trust
Sometimes God asks us to stop panicking and just watch what He will do.
Move When God Says Move
The people had to step onto that path through the sea. Faith requires action!
Celebrate God's Victories
After crossing the sea, Miriam led everyone in a big praise party. Celebrate what God does!
