Esther Saves Her People
A Queen with Extraordinary Courage
The Story
Esther 1-10
Esther was a Jewish girl living in Persia with her cousin Mordecai. When the king was looking for a new queen, Esther was chosen. But she kept her Jewish identity a secret!
A powerful man named Haman hated the Jewish people and convinced the king to make a law to destroy them all. Mordecai sent a message to Esther: 'Maybe you were made queen for just this moment!'
There was a big problem โ anyone who approached the king without being invited could be killed, even the queen! Esther prayed and fasted for three days, then said: 'If I must die, I must die. I will go!'
Esther went to the king and he welcomed her. She bravely told him that Haman was trying to destroy her people. The king was furious at Haman and the Jewish people were saved! God had placed Esther in exactly the right position.
