A Small Boy, A Giant, and Big Faith
The Story
1 Samuel 17
The Philistine army had a secret weapon — a GIANT named Goliath! He was over 9 feet tall and wore shiny armor. Every morning he stomped out and challenged Israel's army. Everyone was terrified!
Young David came to bring food to his brothers in the army. When he heard Goliath's challenge, David wasn't scared. He said, 'Who is this guy talking against the army of the living God?'
King Saul thought David was too young and small to fight. But David said, 'God helped me fight bears and lions when they attacked my sheep. God will help me fight this giant too!'
With just a sling and five smooth stones — and a whole lot of faith — David ran toward the giant. One stone hit Goliath right in the forehead. The giant fell down! God had given David an amazing victory!
