Daniel in the Lions' Den
A Man Who Prayed No Matter What
The Story
Daniel 6
Daniel was one of the best workers in all of Babylon. King Darius liked him so much that he wanted to put Daniel in charge of everything! This made the other leaders very jealous.
The jealous leaders hatched a sneaky plan. They got the king to make a law that said people could ONLY pray to the king for 30 days. Anyone who prayed to God would be thrown into the lions' den!
Daniel heard about the new law, but he didn't change anything. He went to his room, opened his window toward Jerusalem, and prayed to God three times — just like he always did!
Daniel was arrested and thrown into the den of roaring, hungry lions. But God sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths! In the morning, King Darius ran to the den and found Daniel — safe and sound! The king was so amazed that he told everyone to worship Daniel's God!
What Can We Learn?
Never Stop Praying
Daniel prayed three times every day — and nothing could stop him! Prayer is the most powerful thing you can do.
Stand Firm
Even when it was dangerous, Daniel didn't compromise his faith. Stand firm in what you believe!
God Protects His People
God shut the lions' mouths! When we trust God, He is our protector.
Your Faith Inspires Others
Seeing God's miracle changed the whole kingdom! Your faith can inspire the people around you.
